Publishing company Kodansha announced a television anime adaptation of Yuu Shimizu and Makoto Aogiri‘s Isekai Munchkin: HP1 no Mama de Saikyou Saisoku Dungeon Kouryaku (Otherworldly Munchkin: Let’s Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP!) manga on Wednesday, revealing the lead staff and a teaser visual (pictured).
Mamoru Yokota (Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (2020) animation director) is helming the anime at animation studio Durandal.
Shimizu (Seireitsukai no Blade Dance) and Aogiri began serializing the adventure fantasy manga on the Suiyoubi no Sirius website in February 2019. Kodansha published the tenth volume on May 9, with the tenth volume going on sale on Friday.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release in October 2020 and released the ninth volume on May 7. The tenth volume is planned for a November 12 release.
Synopsis
16-year-old Yukito Kirihara lives with his 14-year-old sister Sana, who he treasures more than anyone else. But when an ogre shows up outside of his window looking for Sana (a shocking event in its own right), Yukito leaps to save her—and is killed. He’s offered the promise of reincarnation by a mysterious woman, who gives him a character sheet in a mysterious book. But when Yukito sees Sana in there, too, he sets off to find her, and save them both—even if he only has 1 hp with which to do it! (Source: Kodansha USA)
