Today is Election Day in the United States, and the News app built into your iPhone can help you stay informed throughout the day.
In the News app, you can find up-to-date information on how to vote in your state as well latest news and developments. Most notable, however, is that the News app has a built-in Live Activity to help you follow the election results in real-time today.
As a refresher, a Live Activity on your iPhone appears in the Dynamic Island as well as on the Lock Screen. It updates in real-time with the latest information.
You can enable the Live Activity by opening the News app and tapping on the “Follow the election live” banner at the top.
With the first results rolling in now, the Live Activity will appear on your iPhone’s Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It will update in real-time with the latest information about the presidential race as well as the house and senate results.
In the Dynamic Island and on your Apple Watch, the Live Activity shows results for the presidential election. On your iPhone’s Lock Screen, you’ll see the presidential information as well as results for the Senate and House of Representatives elections.
The News app also collects the latest Election Day news throughout the course of the day. You can also find in-depth voter information for your specific state with details provided by NBC News.
