Cardi B shared, then promptly deleted a video message seemingly addressing early election results on Tuesday night.
“This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” the “WAP” rapper said in the video, posted on X with a face-distorting filter over her visage. The video was deleted within minutes of its posting at 8:42 pm PT.
While Cardi B didn’t directly address voters in hurricane-affected states, the Associated Press called races in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and North Carolina in favor of Donald Trump shortly before her post. The artist also tweeted “We need a hail mary,” as early results showed Kamala Harris trailing behind Trump in other key swing states.
Cardi B has been vocal in her support of Harris in recent weeks, most recently delivering an impassioned speech for Harris’ rally in Wisconsin on Friday. “Just like Kamala Harris, I too have been the underdog,” she told the audience. “I’ve been underestimated. My success, belittle and discredited. Women have to work 10 times harder, perform 10 times better, and still, people question us how we got to the top.”

X CEO Elon Musk, who has endorsed Trump, reshared and criticized a video of Cardi reading her speech off a phone after a teleprompter broke. “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words,” he wrote. “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”
She tweeted back, “I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you… But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm.”
